Is it your view that it is bigotyr when someone disagrees with your perspective or when they take action to go after you and try to take you down because of your beliefs?? I believe bigory is the latter. Please check out my Blog @ Townhall.com - “The Best of Times…”
Hey - thanks for coming by and wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving - Happy Thanksgiving back to you
This is an EXCELLENT article! I was just having a conversation with my sister about this basic issue today. She is reading Clarence Thomas’ new book ‘My Grandfather’s Son’ and for the second time called me to read me bits of it. I was thinking about posting on it earlier, but I haven’t read the book yet.
Thank you! You have a great day of Thanks as well. Even though this country is full of trouble and nitwits at the helm and those who hate America and our culture we still have much to be thankful. It’s still the greatest Nation on this planet!
Good column today. If you think being a conservative is bad, try being a conservative in higher education. People assume you’re liberal, and when they discover you’re not, you get treated like scum– even though you may have been joking best buddies the week before!
So, I don’t talk about it. I don’t mention politics around the office, and I don’t join into political conversations because I know where it goes. I’m still tenure-track, so I don’t want to jeopardize my job by pulling out the conservative card. And I’ve even run into vengeful liberal bastards here on the internet who threaten to “expose” me to the dean for my “thinking”.
I’m just happy there are conservative intellectuals like yourself Eric that I can commiserate with. Happy Thanksgiving.
Given today’s disparity of wealth, the decline of the labor movement and with it families and communities, the power of the military industrial complex, and the legalized cannibalization of the economy with “Free Trade,” I’d say there certainly are “Shaved Dice” in play - but it sure as hell isn’t in favor of “guilty white liberals.”
Eric, I appreciate the holiday wishes. All the best to you.
Living in a deep blue enclave (Arlington, Virginia), I know something of being part of an ideological minority. Even the Republicans here are Democrats, for the most part. Or would be so considered in most of the country.
But, as I learned long ago, being right beats being popular.
Well, if the diced were shaved in the favor of the working man, wouldn’t that disparity look more like it did in the hay-days of the 50’s and 60’s instead of as it is today, which is a virutal mirror of 1929?

He made many of these same points in his book.
Have you read it?
